Since Valentine's Day is upon us, we thought we would talk about what the world needs most right now: Love.  We discuss the kind of people you are likely to run into and the relationships you can look forward to once you move to our little town.

hello hello hello hello peeps and this is Randall and Diane bro here in Prescott and we wanted to wish everybody out there a very Happy Valentine’s Day Happy Valentine’s Day Valentine’s Day you can give me a kiss yes nothing what kind of accent is that I know it’s kind of my Texas code oh no Ikeas Texas has two syllables yes he is yeah yeah so uh we’re going to talk about love is in the air Love Is in the Air I was in the air and I put on my pretty little pink jacket to kind of commemorate day and uh the Valentine Vibe one wanted to kind of give out the Valentine vibe to everybody out there so we wanted to talk about something that I have found which is um unusual I haven’t really experienced this in all the other areas I’ve lived in which have been a lot but when we moved to Prescott most people here are already retired established they’re just enjoying life enjoying the good life and what I found is I’ve really made some very deep friendships here people here are very open to forming long-lasting good friendships they have your back here they really do I I think maybe in the real world in the real life when you’re struggling to make your living and saving up for your retirement there’s a lot of competition and right you know there’s keeping up with the Joneses and um that’s life in America I guess um it could be just Prescott it could be just retirement but what we have found is that people reach a certain age and they come to a certain place and they relax everybody’s chill here everyone’s chill here super chill there’s no uh competition there’s no everybody’s just very laid back and very accepting of each other we’ve all had different life experiences we’ve all walked different paths um but now everybody’s like you know what we’re done we’re good and they just enjoy who you are for what you are yeah there isn’t any judgment there isn’t any so we have a little bit too much to drink and we’re dancing a little crazy we’re all embraced everybody’s just having a good time there isn’t oh can you see this can you see that oh she has this and I don’t have there’s none of that all of that is over and it’s really very refreshing yeah very refreshing yeah everybody’s just like you know I accept you for who you are I love it I have made more friends here I’ve lived I’ve had good friends in other areas but it’s just all I mean most of the people I meet here and spend time with we’ve become good friends absolutely no Frenemies no friends we have a lot of clients that have become quite dear friends as well and we love that so the circle just keeps growing and growing and growing and it’s it’s really deep nice friendships these are people any one of them I could call whenever middle of the night and say I’ve got a problem and they would be there they have your back yeah and I don’t know if it’s a symptom of life in Prescott because we’re so chill and laid back I don’t know all I know is I love it yeah I think it’s so nice it’s just nice to hang with people who are who were great to have your back they have your back you reach a certain age too you you have uh you know health issues or yeah or or this and that and if you do you’ll find that people here will be there for you yeah they’ll help you out and can I take you to the doctor yeah can I bring you a meal um it’s lovely there isn’t the hustle and bustle of you know life and running from job to job we are good friends and they are here for you we’re here for each other yeah and it’s it’s lovely plus we just have a good time yeah uh they’re a lot of fun yeah and um lots of things to learn everybody’s had a different experience so you know maybe you’re talking about adult children this that and the other it’s just nice to have sound you know people that you can bounce things off of and get some good advice yeah absolutely business-wise too right this wise too yeah lots of smart folks here lots and lots of smart people accomplished very well accomplished but I think the other favorite thing that I love here which I’ve never had and at first it kind of took my breath away or kind of made me feel wait what but people here a lot of our friends end with okay sure do love you have a good day love you and they always you know just on a basic phone call hey okay good to hear from you okay all right I’ll talk to you soon love you and I I love when people say that I think it’s great yeah everybody’s like okay love you they have other areas of the country that we’ve lived in spend time in no people from and unless you were you know you were born there and you know your grandparents were born there uh you’re not part of the community you’re not going to be in the fold and that’s just not the case here every now for the most part is uh from someplace else they’ve moved here to retire there are natives here obviously but a lot of the people you meet they are coming here just like you would be uh and don’t know anyone so they bond yeah wait yeah that’s a good word we all Bond we’re all our own little family and uh honestly it’s kind of nice to have somebody say love you you know especially as we get older you know moms and dads are gone so it’s kind of nice to hear it from somebody you know what I mean and um it’s sweet yeah it’s really sweet and uh it’s nice to have these really good bonds yeah so if you’re thinking about Prescott you’re worried about how well I make friends how like everybody here is pretty open to Friendship yeah and uh you’ll make good food and good friends good people they have your back so to all of our friends out there you know who you are we’re selling we love you yeah we’re selling them I’m not going to give you their names because they’re I don’t want to share them all no but that’s not true we’re glad to introduce you to people absolutely we’ve got some really good people here and you can meet them too so don’t be afraid about making new friends here you’ll meet some good quality people and we’re very lucky to have our friends in our lives and we thank you guys I’m not going to tear up I’m going to keep it together so the the tip of luck the the today’s love this is a tip of Love tip Thoughts for 2023

Another difficult year is past, and all eyes turn forward to the new year before us.  In this episode, we make our predictions for what 2023 will hold and share some thoughts about what it could mean for you.

hello hello hello I am Diane this is my better half Randall yes we are correct uh we are fellow Realtors together and fighting in the trenches for you and all of our fellow buyers fellow sellers um we are with exp Realty and we are delighted to be here to help you guys and uh as you’re thinking about next chapters new chapters new chapters which brings us to 2023 New Year they’re getting better every year so probably the one of the worst was 20 20 was tough yeah yeah true this past year was not as bad not as bad it’s getting back crazy a lot of the uncertainty it’s things are starting to settle down I know people are concerned about interest rates and you know end of times and this that and the other and honestly the end of times thing is kind of people are past the end of times they understand the elections are behind us I think we’re going to start getting more on a smoother path now um we just can’t dwell on all of that we just have to keep moving forward and being happy and the wherever we are in whatever chapter you are don’t think about all this stuff we don’t honestly this is my opinion don’t have a lot of control over it yeah I can’t change uh politics I can’t change interest rates I can’t change uh what’s going to come this year I can’t change covet yeah um all I can do is the best every single day and put one foot in front of the other that’s right that’s how you that’s all any of us can do my friends right cheers I really that’s great cinnamon I I really believe that this is my prediction for 2023 I think wait who was it uh so I believe it was Calvin Kelvin Coolidge who termed the uh the word normalcy oh yeah right actually the actual word is normality but uh people say normalcy now he’s the one who that’s like strategy thanks George W injury so uh yeah and that was his strategy so normalcy so you know he’s after World War one and it’s like our return to normalcy yes and I think that is what 2023 is going to be for us I sure am hoping I think things are gonna chill out things are gonna get more and more normal and people interest rates are already starting to change again they had gotten so high but now as you can see they’re starting to drop again that’s of course could change again but I think what everyone the great fears that people had yeah I think it’s going to be okay folks yeah the whole Logistics and Supply thing is starting to iron itself out uh you know supply chain is getting normal again just things are just getting normal every day that goes by people seem to relax just a little bit more and so I I think that’s what 2023 is going to mean for us it’s it’s going to be a normal year and in the in the uh since the the couple of years that we just had that’s going to be a wonderful thing I I think I look forward to it and it’s a long waited we all deserve yeah absolutely some nice back to normalcy back to not worrying about everything and just having uh but it’s back to normal again but I think the most important thing I’d like to share with a lot of people is um there’s a lot of fear people are like well uh I I really hate where I live I hear I can’t tell you kind of makes me sad it kind of pulls up my heartstrings I’m really miserable where I live I hate everything about it I hate the taxes I hate the traffic I hate the increasing cost of living this is my point if you’re not happy where you are it’s not going to change it’s not going to get better it’s not like you reach a certain age you know the world was you were young and the world was struggling and you were part of the fight and you were going to help and you had time time was on your side that ship is salesman I mean most of our clients time is no longer on your side now is the time you need to read the reward that you’ve worked so hard your whole life 100 and if you sit around and you wait for the world or the the people out there to make the world better for you it’s not going to happen so don’t be afraid to make the move if you’re in your 60s 70s we’ve even had people in their 80s absolutely I’ve had enough of this and I want to go somewhere where I am happy yeah and I it’s scary is it scary to walk away and start over a hundred percent we did it all of our friends have done it have any of them had regrets not one person not one person has regretted making that big step and making a change so keep that in mind for new for 2023. yeah absolutely come over here for a new beginning let all that go if you’re busy the best time to make it happen is yesterday yep right it would have been easier 10 years ago when you’re that absolutely younger it will be that much harder 10 years from now oh yeah and and then the other thing to point out is we are a cheaper alternative you know we’re telling you you can have a great life here it would be different if we were trying to talk you into moving someplace that’s more expensive than where you are right this is not a lateral move this is not a lateral it’s gonna be cheaper here your property taxes will be cheaper your cost of living gasoline cost of housing is still cheaper than other places I mean all of the groceries utilities you name it you’re going to be like living a new life when is a good time to reduce your cost of living the answer is there is no best time it’s always good if the if you think the economy is going to the toilet oh okay well maybe it is maybe it isn’t but uh if it does would you be better off where you are now or someplace cheaper I mean I just that’s the million dollar question you know so my goal for you for 2023 is think positive think I’m going to make a change make a change I’m not going to live in fear of what may or may not happen yes if you’re really not happy where you are it’s time to change yeah it’s hard it’s scary but so worth it and we love it we’re so happy we did it so anyway 2023 of the year make it your your your time to shine your time to make pie be brave be brave all right so that’s our little New Property Taxes

Are property taxes ever good news?  Well, they come pretty close in Prescott.  

If you tired of paying through the nose for services that never materialize, then this episode is for you.  We talk turkey about taxes here in Prescott and how they compare to those in other, less fortunate places.

hello hello hello and happy good afternoon how’s that that’s good Happy good afternoon happy good afternoon yeah you’re good and happy this is Diane and Randall bro you’re a fellow thank you for identifying yourself she’s pickling I am the pickle lady as well uh thank you for listening to our current little Vlog that we’re about to do it look at you we’re happy to have you here isn’t that a Russian name I don’t know but anyways we’re just delighted we’re with exp Realty we’re local Realtors here in Prescott here to talk to you about a lot of questions we get about property tax property taxes it weighs heavily on a lot of our out of town people who come in heavily heavily and I swear I swear on on the Holy Bible I swear whatever you need me to swear on uh we do not have a stepped up tax appreciation as you will find in other states such as California yeah uh maybe at Oregon and Washington when you buy here there might be a slight adjustment on the current property taxes on the home you’re purchasing but it will not be a dramatic increase like oh they bought this house for 200 000 and now we’re selling it for six hundred thousand so I guess the taxes are going to shoot Sky High does not happen does not happen that way so I swear yeah we had uh two back-to-back years in Prescott uh 30 appreciation during the Covenant market and during that time I think property taxes actually went down yeah they actually went down so so we have a zero-based budget approach to government here in Prescott the uh I guess it’s the county I don’t know the city the whoever mayor who the mayor he gets down he must have a meeting yeah they they figure out what their budget is and they plan to have no money left over at the end so they they put together this is how much money we need to run the place at this point this is all the property that we have and they kind of back into what they need to charge so that they break even right what’s the most important things that we need to address this year yeah and uh they take care of it it’s a very Progressive little town yeah um we don’t have potholes we don’t have roads that need work on we don’t have confidence yeah it’s pretty confident I don’t know what they’re doing they kind of know what they’re doing um things are handled here so they’re not always looking to gouge you for more money taxes they just don’t do that so I mean your taxes might go up fifty dollars yeah might go up 100 might go down 50 it just really depends on what the city is looking at and what their needs are to accomplish for the upcoming year so I know it’s hard to believe yeah we’ve been here six and a half years I think my taxes might have gone up total at the maximum two hundred dollars that’s it all right so now as we are recording this this is November of 2022. yep and let’s talk a little turkey so oh let’s say I have a home it is in Prescott Lakes uh cost of the home is 750 000 okay what’s the property tax probably going to be probably anywhere from 2100 maybe to 2500 yeah that’s per year per year that’s the other question we always get so do you mean every six months no that’s quarterly right no no it’s not quarterly it’s not semi-annually it’s once a year once a year that’s it and it won’t sell out when your property values go up that’s right some homes in here it might even be 1800 1900. uh taxes are extremely reasonable here so when you’re looking to move here think about all of that your cost of living is going to go way down think about just the savings alone on your property taxes we have some people in our car they’re paying 11 to 15 000 a year yeah I mean that’s like a fancy vacation you could take yeah yeah that’s like oh now we can that money’s freed up now I can go out and really enjoy life without sweating these huge property taxes yeah in other states and so we swear they don’t go up they don’t go up you’re not going to have a crazy stepped up tax appreciation it’s uh pretty chill here yeah we need to do another wind down on property tax but I would just give you the short version because I know that’s what you’re thinking yeah but they’re going to get me with income tax right oh yeah um I knew what you said so okay here’s the thing most of the people who are coming in they are going into retirement when you retire your income goes down so uh even though you have lots of assets you’re supposed to pay on your you know your annual income and for most people retiring that number goes down yep uh even if that’s not the case the income tax here is reasonable yes it’s really really small yeah our property taxes are lower we aren’t going to get you in the income tax yeah it is it’s still pretty reasonable that’s not like the state of Texas we used to live in Texas oh no no uh income tax no income tax yeah but we’re paying 12 000 in property tax from a home they get you in other ways for 350 000 yeah guys something like that they’ll get you another one we’ll get you yeah so um yeah add those two together yep uh and uh the both of them are very low here so taxes are a good thing so it’s a it’s a happy day and you you will be happy too when you’re going on a cruise are you taking a little John to Hawaii instead of sending it to whatever state you’re living in that’s right for your you know 30 year old home yeah yeah that’s just my opinion yeah so a little Falling into Halloween

hello hello hello my fellow pickle peeps hello peeps we’re so excited why are we excited Randall we’re excited because Summer is dying yes it’s actually it’s gone to rest we’re actually in Fall happy fall y’all be fall y’all happy fall y’all my favorite phrase summers are not really that bad here no not not at all so much better than where we used to live but you know fall and winter I love so much more so yes every time it’s and this this summer was actually uh we had a great amazing season yeah I named the best August of my life it was nice and rainy and cool that’s a big comment the best August of your life well I’m August they’re probably the worst month of the year when you’re living in I think it was the best because that’s my birthday well yeah yeah it starts off the thing it goes downhill from that I checked but I’m not but anyway birthday treat there is that what we’re talking about I don’t know but yeah so now we’re at fall and we’re gonna pass that up completely we’re going to talk about fall so we just got back from La Quinta California yes we’ll have more to say about that in a future episode but yeah suffice to say like he took California right outside Palm Springs still super hot and we were kind of melting beautiful beautiful but can’t do the heat anymore people can’t do the heat we’re so glad to get back and fall was falling fall is falling we had a great time yeah and uh you know we’re very happy uh to be back we’ve decorated for our favorite holiday [Music] so although Halloween is not celebrated uh as it is in most of your neighborhoods probably where the kids come to your door yeah we don’t have trick-or-treating our neighborhoods here we do not uh Prescott is very unique they have everyone gather all the children in town uh go to Mount Vernon and they have special all the homes there the historical homes decorate for Halloween and all the kiddos the streets blocked off lit up the police are there they go from house to house there only on Mount Vernon it’s really interesting it’s really cool they’re very old tradition started back in the old west when they used to round the children up to sacrifice them on Mount Vernon but now they don’t now don’t even say that yeah so somebody out there is going to think that’s true yeah that is not true we are a retirement town so when you do see a child it is a little it’s a good luck yeah it’s good luck you need to try to catch them rub their head yeah rub they’re building something so you get some of that you can thank you they’ll tell you where their pot of gold is that’s right so it’s always special yeah Halloween is lovely yeah they do they uh they block off about three three blocks of Mount Vernon which is the old historical City yep kind of the centerpiece and all the old homes or at least most of them are decorated to the nines the fun people the fun people of which we have great friends yes shout out to Kathy and Harvey yep always have the best Halloween party ever the best Halloween decorations live music so if you are here for Halloween come down Mount Vernon we’ll be there at our friend’s house enjoying all the spectacular events that they hold on that day unclear what we’re going to it’s a good time that’ll be fun good times so and we hand out candy to everyone about 3 000 kids will dress straight up and down Mount Vernon not to be missed so also if you’re new to the area and maybe you don’t want to go out on Halloween itself because it all you know traffic and kids and this that and the other always just walk down there a week before it’s a beautiful walk it’s lovely and you can see all the decorations without all the crowds that’s right I’ll leave it up to you absolutely beautiful you will miss a good party and fun and music and you might see us waving at you thinking about coming to Prescott is a good time absolutely so always fall into Halloween here in Prescott not to be missed and very very unique absolutely and we thoroughly enjoy it every year another good tip if you like tips the place to go is pickle411.com there you’ll find our free information site yes all kinds of wonderful information where to get the best treats on Halloween and restaurants and just all kinds of stuff all right all free and good stuff for you all good stuff fun stuff fun stuff we try to bring it all to you people yes we do and share the wealth of knowledge that we have about life here in Prescott that’s right so we hope you appreciate it and uh if you’re here for Halloween come on by and wave pass by at our little party we’re not sure what our costumes will be at but we’ll be there having fun so cheers to you wherever you are and uh Happy fall wherever you are enjoy the Beautiful the beautiful weather that comes our way Come fall season come fall season that’s right camel can’t fall is falling can’t beat it and press it I’ll tell you that much it’s our favorite cheers and I hope to hear from you soon take care

Good Neighboring

hello hello hello hello hello hello hello peeps I felt a song coming up yeah I was thinking Age of Aquarius kind of somebody here is teaching himself the piano so yeah all night long I hear the 80s Aquarius over and over and over it’s been great there is aligning with Mars that’s what they say this is Diana Randall bro here in Prescott I am your local pickle lady I always have pickles on me so in fact yesterday I’d say this I was at the gas station and three guys came up to the van I have to be honest I was a little alarmed at first I was like hey can I I was they just showed up and they’re like do you have pickles and I relaxed and I said I sure do and they’re like do you really I said I sure do so if you see me in my van which has pickles emblazoned all over it I always carry pickles with me and I’m happy to share them with anybody even at the gas station she produces about five gallons of pickles a month that’s right and we actually one of the things on the calendar every month is the recycle production restock the cars with Pickles that’s right so anyway happy to share but uh and that’s that’s just all in as we call in a size this is an assignment that’s what we call it in the biz In The Biz this is inside yeah but anyway uh so uh this is Randall and Diane bro here your local agents uh Elena she’s speculating and I am also the pickle lady I I wear both hats and I enjoy wearing both hats uh so we wanted to talk today a little bit something about something called good names good neighboring something important you need to understand about the city of Prescott yes is that city of Prescott is a small neighborly Town yes and the whole idea I remember years ago there was a insurance company and their slogan was like a good neighbor State Farm is there a State Farm full yeah State Farm yeah okay uh there was a company there was a company name which is a great whoever did that advertising great slogan great slogan yes the only problem is people have lost the concept of a good neighbor yeah so they had to change their they had to change their marketing because nobody knows what that means I know well I hope it’s still alive and well it’s still are very much alive and well in Prescott and so I kind of wanted to give everybody a little education when you’re moving here and particularly if you’re coming from a big city or a big metropolitan area you’re used to get congestion and traffic and your walls are up in Europe you’re always on the defense and you’re you know there isn’t um that one-on-one contact because you’re afraid somebody might you know jump you or something yeah yeah when you move to Prescott leave all of that behind in the big city don’t need to do that here um if you have a problem with a neighbor here you don’t need to immediately go to homeco or your HOA company yeah you don’t need to immediately or call the cops or anything like that we are a sweet still laid-back yeah gentle little town you know people you can nicely go knock on the door and say hey can I talk to you about something yeah and um everybody here is pretty chill yeah uh provided you don’t go in with guns blazing and your calm cool and collected most people here are very receptive and kind and say oh my goodness thank you for sharing this with me I didn’t know and I’m going to work with you on whatever the issue may be well it has a little warning here too if you do go in guns blazing and call the police or oh yeah your HOA or whatever for being a good neighbor your your well is going to get poisoned like we again we are a small town yes and word spreads fast yes so if you do something like you move in and three weeks later you’re reporting somebody if you’re brand new head out yeah and that’s it then you’re the difficult that’s your brand that’s right so here’s the thing when you move when you do that usually when you move in neighborhoods here people have been here a number of years so we all have established relationships we’re all neighborly if you’re the new kid on the Block and you’re only here two or three weeks and you’re already starting to complain about somebody and Reporting them or calling the police it’s not going to be good for you you’re going to be labeled that new difficult neighbor who came from the big city yeah you don’t want that reputation you don’t want it and you don’t need it chances are you’re going to come here you’re not knowing anyone that’s right I want to develop some friends not a good person not a good first step so to all of our folks moving from big cities from all over Washington California uh Oregon we’ve got people from New Jersey you know what we’re chill here it’s chill why you want to be here that’s why you came here yeah yeah so we just want to give you a little public service uh information so that you you get started on the right foot absolutely take that first right step uh no need to do all that and of course we certainly don’t want to talk about suing and all that oh no we don’t do that here we’re chill uh Prescott’s Uber chilled yeah yeah nice small town friendly people will respectfully listen um and try to help you out and make adjustments if they need to for whatever you’re having an issue with hopefully a good tip a good tip so just want to let you know leave your big city ways we had to do it too we came from a big city and we really arizona i am the pickle lady uh just jarred 75 jars of pickles yes i’m ready for my next wave of buyers so i can share my pickles with everybody yeah if you have not tried your pickles people listen you gotta get some good they’re good stuff americans i have to say i do enjoy them but i think you know honestly i really just have fun making them too you know i just jar anyway it’s just i’m part of the fun part of this job love to share love to share them but anyway we are here today to talk about the dry heat diversity heat and i will share this with you we are from the deep south excuse me we’re from actually we’re from uh the new orleans area which has got to be the most human place i haven’t been anywhere that is more human i agree yeah so here’s the interesting thing we used to kind of miss the humidity i mean we kind of liked it it’s like oh it feels you know good it’s soft on your skin blah blah blah then we moved here uh now we’ve totally adjusted to the dry heat so we went back to recently to visit new orleans it was kind of torturous it was like just being damp yeah the whole time the whole time you know you go into a room with air conditioning and it’s just damp and so anyway although people will come here and they’re like oh this dry heat this dry heat it actually feels pretty good it feels painful yeah really you get used to it quickly um and no one has done more of a transition than we have coming from new orleans it doesn’t get any more human than that nope and we went back and it was torturous yeah i was really surprised we missed this dry heat you missed the dry day so as long as you honestly drink drink drink when you move here you must learn to drink water all day long because you will not sweat like you will in humid areas so before you know it you might be dehydrated you don’t even know it sneaks up on you sneaks up on you uh so as long as you keep yourself hydrated um put some lotion on uh so for your you know if your skin gets a little dry yeah it’s a beautiful thing to drink beautiful thing you have good hair days pretty much every day great hair days you know you don’t have to set your hair and you walk out it falls flat or it freezes out you know what i mean uh which is what we were used to yeah you start to feel a little hung over that’s the that’s that’s the sign or you can start getting a headache that needs a little bit of a headache that sort of hangover headache it’s a special kind of special kind of pain that means you need to get some water but once you kind of get those two things in place and put your lotion on and everything you too will totally adjust to the dry heat you’ll love it the beautiful thing about dry heat and you know low humidity is that in the winter especially you’re not it’s not that bone chilling cold i mean although our temperatures may dip low because it’s a dry heat you know you you still kind of walk out with just a sweater on yeah you know and you don’t even feel it whereas in some other areas of the country when it rains or it’s damp even if it’s just in the 50s you feel a lot more get a lot more aches and pains this dry heat is a cool thing well i tell you this people talk about phoenix having dry heat you know arizona dry heat drinking drinking listen if it’s 120 degrees it doesn’t matter if it’s dry or that’s true you’re going to vaporize and he just it’s not a good thing we don’t get that high we don’t get those temps right now we’re recording this it’s in june june tends to be the hottest month of the year in brexit uh we get into the mid 90s maybe have a couple of days where it’s high 90s yeah approaching triple digits but we don’t get anywhere close to where phoenix and other areas in the valley here get people tell you oh you know it’s 120 but it’s a dry heat yeah you vaporize yeah i know that that kind of dry heat i don’t like yeah i like our brisket meat we like the press get dry yeah we’re comparing 95 degrees and prescott to 95 degrees in new orleans yeah that’s too different yeah and dry heat winds hands down take it from two people who have lived it done it lived it walked it yeah so the other good thing is you know although june is our hottest month and it heats up uh it sets the monsoon pattern yeah so shortly after those monsoons start coming in and then it really cools down it’s so pleasant you get a nice cool breeze some a few clouds take out some of the sun we had uh this past week we had a little taste of it yes i was so excited kind of rain clouds coming i’m like oh my gosh it’s coming it’s coming so the good thing here about prescott keep in mind we may be in the 90s in the daytime but every evening it drops to the 70s and we have a nice breeze in the evening and we set out yeah we’re out last night we were out over a friend’s house they had a couple of yeah a couple a couple of us over uh for dinner and we sat up and this is the hottest month of the year after dinner it was so comfortable and so nice a nice breeze it was nice so if you are looking to make a change uh if you’re coming from the northeast this is your place this is your place you’re gonna love it yeah four seasons none are too extreme yeah if you’re thinking about arizona and you’re thinking more on the phoenix area come check us out before you commit to anything absolutely you’ll probably like it better here yeah all right on that note we just wanted to share our excitement about dry heat and how we’ve now fully embraced it yeah uh we love it it’s a part of our life what damp damp is that i thought you meant Cool Trees

Prescott is its own little ecosystem, so the plants and animals you see here can be quite different from what you're used to (especially if you've grew up in - say - the swamps of Louisiana).  In this episode we call out some of our very favorite trees, which we were delighted to discover when we moved here.

hello hello hello hello peeps this is randall and i am diane bro they’re a prescott pickle lady that’s right and uh we are your local husband and wife team here in prescott um ready willing and able to help you to serve you uh amazing customer service if i say so myself but anyway here to talk about cool trees yeah this was something you know now that we’re kind of spring has sprung we’re heading into summer all of our beautiful trees here you know we’re from the deep south yeah so we have now been exposed to trees we’ve never seen never heard of we’re from the land of oak trees and spanish moss cypress and all that pine trees just plain old pine trees so when we moved here we were like wow yeah what is this tree that’s just getting leaves and blossoming and completely different floor totally different so we just love it and one of my favorite is the smoke tree smoke trees are so cool so cool you won’t find them down i thought it was the strangest thing i remember the first time i’m driving through prescott lakes yeah they take us on smoketree and i was like why is this what do you smoke but we actually have trees here and they call them smoke trees and the reason why is a certain time of year now it’s basically now right now right now we’re in june yep this is it this is it you can kind of see why they call them smoke trees it’s like uh they’ve got this sort of fluffy thing fluffy little flowers looks like the leaves are kind of purple um and they’ll start leafing out first and then these little puffs of this little flower comes out and it looks like little cups of smoke so in prescott lakes one of the main drags on the way to the club is called smoke tree and it’s lined with these smoke trees so now i get it now again connection yeah and um so those are really unusual beautiful trees i’ve never seen them where i’m from so i appreciate that yeah i don’t know how far i feel you can go uh where how far out smoke trees are whether that’s uh yeah i don’t know not to look at it but they’re big here yeah they’re very big here very big here another one that’s uh really cool is the quaking aspen yeah beautiful trees beautiful and the winds blow and the leaves they literally quick and shaky and it’s just but it’s just beautiful to see the breeze go through them and it’s all leafy and green and you know both that one and the um smoke tree they will lose their leaves yeah but then it all comes back in the spring and summer and it’s just beautiful and of course an aspen when it when it loses its leaves it’s beautiful in the fall it’s just beautiful yeah it’s got that silver bark yeah that’s really cool i like a good aspen not a good good aspirin everybody likes a good um yeah i get it the other tree that we would uh we would call out is called the red leaf plum what’s your favorite favorite yeah also purpley who are you talking to this is this is my very favorite and it’s a beautiful tree and it goes through very different phases yes um so most of the year it it kind of looks like the leaves are made of like a red purple leather almost or velvet it’s like so descriptive yeah they’re beautiful beautiful trees just sort of normally yes uh but when they blossom in the early spring they look like cherry blossoms they do it does it looks like you’re in washington dc washington amongst the cherry blossoms that’s true bright bright pink light pink beautiful yeah and they almost look like a snow cone yeah absolutely it’s stunning so and there they are fruit trees you know what else i love them we didn’t talk about this but i love it’s called a desert willow oh okay and sometimes a desert willow is more it’s usually a bush but some of the uh landscapers will train it to grow into a tree and that takes very little water it’s in the willow family but it makes beautiful purple and pink flowers yeah all throughout the summer so it’s a little different than your traditional weeping willow which is what i’m used to so i’m all about the desert willow yeah yeah one of the things you look forward to in coming here is learning all the local flora and fauna the different kinds of trees they have here we’ve done an episode before on birds and the crazy kinds of birds that we get here a lot of birds coming through so there’s a great variety yeah uh and just taking the time to learn more about the local nature and yeah and you know uh citrus doesn’t do so well here citrus trees because we do get kind of chilly willy in the winter yeah but i tell you what cherries plums um what are some of the others well the red leaf plums we mentioned yeah before they are edible and they’re actually pretty good yeah apples apricots yeah apples not a problem not a problem all those and those two are just as equally beautiful so anyway we’ve had fun kind of learning about all the different trees and enjoying them it’s something we’ve never got to experience down in the south so here it’s like a whole new world people a whole new world you can learn all kinds of new things here yeah and expand your horizons and isn’t that what it’s all about get yourself some cherries or some red plums aspen grab yourself and grab grab and ask rub it out and grab this mask i don’t know if there’s anything you can eat no but it’s so pretty i like the way it shakes though i like that shaking the shaking aspen anyway okay so yeah i can tell you we’re heading in that direction we’re trying to connect it together yeah i get it it’s not easy being a comedian folks not easy being a realtor either if you’re looking for information about real hi folks hello peeps randlyn diambro here here with pickle lady prescott arizona we’re so happy to be here this evening your real estate agents at large that’s right at large we’re talking about everything that is prescott whether it’s real estate whether it’s restaurants whether it’s javelina page so that we we will we cover it all so in this little topic we’d like to cover religion religion and religious groups religious groups i love prescott arizona um they are very open they have all kinds of groups here that welcome everyone from all walks of life we have the catholic church we have the jewish synagogues we have the non-denominational yeah non-denominational churches community groups of all kinds but what makes the religious groups in prescott a little different than in other cities is a lot of time religion is about raising children in that religion so i was you know i was surprised at how many questions we get about religious groups here at prescott yeah i still don’t know if anyone has ever asked us about schools here never we we get maybe a hand maybe twice a year with questions about schools yeah but mostly because we are a retirement town people are calling about you know tell me a little bit about the religious community yeah that’s very social a community connection thing it’s really not about church and the building per se it’s more about what is the community outreach through different groups and sometimes it’s just social activities with people common faith or close enough [Music] all very open and loving and welcoming and you can get involved in a lot of social outreach we have a few uh non-denominational uh christian churches that well in texas they call them mega churches because well they’re huge yes i don’t know if they’re as big as they are in the city of houston i know everything is bigger in texas yeah everything’s bigger in texas everything’s bigger even the religions even the that’s religions here that the communities may be smaller but they’re very active uh you know we see people that different churches will have different uh uh logos or decals or whatever and you’ll see the cars and everything and yeah it’s it’s a it’s a going thing but i mean i think the big thing for me is total acceptance yeah absolutely of all religions of all walks of life yeah um nobody’s really hardcore here we’re all pretty accepting and loving and happy to reach out to help others and that’s what it’s all about people right that’s right especially as we get older and we’re retirement age right we’re reaching the shooting it shut up we’re reaching we’re heading into the show so it’s all about service to others kindness to others uh love towards others and honestly i’ve never felt anything other than love and acceptance here in prescott absolutely no matter what persuasion you are religious persuasion um yeah absolutely now that the churches are active so you know if you’re used to the kind of church where people go and you know they kneel and pray and then they stand up and pray and they kneel and pray and then they do the sign of the cross and leave maybe not be for you because these people actually get in the community they do food drives and all kinds of service activities and social activities it’s more about the activity it’s feel good religion feel good feel good religion i think it’s a great reflection on the city absolutely 100 so we wanted to say to those of you thinking about prescott we have it all here we have all we cover all religious bases all religious backgrounds yeah and we are very welcoming and accepting of all those and there’s a place for you and there’s a place for you to provide service to others uh you’ll love it we love it so good to us so anyway we just thought we’d kind of share that with you in case you were having any questions yeah and i apologize that it took us this long to mention you know churches and synagogues and things like that we got it when i was just kind of thinking it was one of those school things we got a few calls we had a call about synagogues and yeah we had a call about churches not too long ago and so yeah we should just tell people yeah people pray here and you know they worship here and they we got you covered whatever you are probably you’ll find it if you’re into the god thing we got you covered if you look for information the place to get is pickle411.com that is our free information site whether you are a buyer of homes a seller of homes or you just want to go to church you can check it out at pickle411 you will find the information you need there to get yourself plugged in locked in locked loaded ready to fire and sending on your way that’s right and we are happy to help you and uh guide you on your path absolutely so anyway it’s uh something what are the neat attributes of preston we got some good stuff going here people so come on in join us come visit us give us a call take care have a good evening bye

Kudos to Yavapai County

what up what up what up what’s going on folks randall and diane brew here located in the heart of prescott lakes the very heart the very heart you are the heart that’s really but i am glad to be here uh this evening to talk to you about the county county kudos yavapai county so yamaha is one of those words that people don’t know how to pronounce true so we should probably start there i agree yeah so the word is pronoun my understanding of the word is the way that it’s pronounced is yavapai as in do you have a pie yes do you have a pie you have a pie you have a pie sure do and the answer is javelina you will see a lot of them here in prescott they are an interesting little critter yeah but uh yeah that’s his favorite joke he loves to tell him it never lands you know well i should say it lands with a phone yeah yeah i enjoy the thud that’s why i keep going there do you know what happened is a skunk fig oh is that well i mean it does yeah what do you does it you say about clothes i’ve never been close enough to smell well i’ve yeah they they are not a pretty critter i’ll say that they’re not yeah i could see where that would that’s an accurate description pungent pigs uh did we introduce ourselves i don’t know doing i don’t know she’s pickling i am diane and this is randall bro i am the pickle lady located here in prescott arizona we’re a real estate agent correct and we talk about real estate and prescott a whole bunch of other stuff lots of stuff lots of stuff foolishness foolishness mostly but today we’re here tonight a lot of fun yamapai county so prescott is in yeah those of you in louisiana that’s what other people call back a parish correct so uh we had a client who did a project and somewhere along the lines somebody lost uh the paper trail with permits yep yep so they finished out their their uh construction project it expanded the square footage with that which they’ve been enjoying for over 10 years and they would sell their home and the county has the very old square footage way back when so yeah we kind of had to kind of had to straighten that before so when that happens it’s easy peasy you call the county and you just say hey we need to revisit this um but what we were super impressed with was they were like the next day hey we’re coming out to re-measure and update the county records and we’re like really already yeah absolutely yes now if you’re from an area of the world like i am where the performance of the local government agencies are less than stellar then you know what i’m thinking so there there could be a permit issue which is a function of prescott valley city city of prescott valley and that affects the square footage square footage comes on under under the domain of yavapai county county city so now you’re dealing with government employees from two different entities uh it could get dicey yeah i’m like oh this could get crazy this could be a six-month event yeah but what we found was no oh my god it was so simple they were amazing i explained it once and they got it right away he came the next day the very next day i called and i said um i explained the situation about square footage and he’s and i i i think it was a lady she says um well you’re in luck uh we are in the process now of going through the valuation the assessment evaluation process and so if you fill out the following two forms yeah she did it better than i could so uh she said the deadline is tomorrow get the forms done and get them into us tomorrow don’t mail them drop them off and she explained where yeah uh we can get somebody out right away because we’re in the middle of that process and i’m thinking sure sure right right the next day the gentleman came uh he called the name before he showed up the next day he was super nice of course i gave him a jar of pickles yeah yeah that always helps it always helps smooth pickles even everybody out it really is a magical event when you stand out jiggles that’s your gift to the world it is amazing how many people really love people but anyway maybe that was the secret and you know the pv people that are prescribing people uh completely understanding too everyone immediately got that there are two entities involved and we’re going to have to kind of do this together no problem i was just astounded at how well and and how competent they were how easily they understood what was a pretty weird situation and uh uh very polite and efficient and i’m like oh my god it’s like a well-oiled machine something we’re not used to from where we came from so we thoroughly appreciated it so i appreciate it to the county hats off to you you have a pie you have a pie we thank you uh for your prompt response your professionalism um your whatever your effectiveness effectiveness how expedient i mean how many other words can we say i don’t know i don’t know i need a thesaurus we need a thesaurus my my thesaurus is terrible and it is also terrible also a very old i think we gave a very old joke yes i think we gave some good words yeah you did better than i did so if you were in a similar situation we have contacts now and uh we’ll make it happen for you and get everything cleared up uh for you to go in the market without any worries or any hassles as you get under contract and rest are sure that you are supported by government agencies that are on the ball true true truth true true true yes so anyway uh if you two are in a similar situation have no fears yeah we can always figure it out we can always figure it out and make it well Fretting a Crash?

People worry that what goes up must come down, and nothing has gone up more than real estate in recent years.  Are we overdue a crash?

In this episode, we share our thoughts on the crash potential for Prescott-area real estate.

hello hello hello hello peeps good afternoon and this is randall and diane bro here in the lovely town of prescott arizona prescott arizona with vic lady yes here’s my little pickle somebody uh suggested this to us of course i immediately went on and bought it i love it and also yodles i won’t hit that yodel this time yeah yeah i’ll just let you see my pickle yeah um but anyway uh we are here where we uh wanted to chat with you about fretting a crash yeah so we’ve been having a lot of people asking us about the ever increasing home prices not just here and prescript across the country and whether we are due some catastrophic crash as we had back in the late 2000s and the answer to that at least as far as prescott is concerned is we don’t see where that would come from so the the crash in 2008 depending on where you were maybe it was a different time a lot of that was driven by people who had financing that no one should have ever given them that’s right no money down for an eight hundred thousand dollars probably not a good idea yeah so people were buying extra homes on credit and flipping them there’s a lot of stuff that was going on the the short answer on that score is that is not happening it really you know a lot of our clients are retired yep and when you retire this market in particular yeah you know they have a lot of money but not necessarily a lot of income sometimes they struggle to qualify because of things like debt ratios or income ratios right you know the the the ratios and the finances are are not and you know what they don’t weigh that uh they gotta jump those hurdles uh clearly it’s a good loan but they follow the regulations getting financing even when the interest rates are really low you think they’re begging for business guess what if you can’t make the ratio you will not get a loan it ain’t gonna happen it ain’t gonna happen it ain’t gonna happen yeah so yeah we’re not worried about a crash per se and particularly in the press kit market yeah because most of our buyers are cash buyers yes they’re retired um they’re either paying cash or they’re putting substantial amounts down for a down payment and so you know the creeping interest rates it doesn’t bother them so much because they pretty much have a pretty low mortgage yes um so if we’re kind of a unique market here yeah you may have seen there was an article i believe it was in fortune one of those magazines they listed a number of cities around the country we were one of them prescott arizona makes it makes it into this magazine as as one of the towns that is destined uh destined for a price adjustment and the reason they give is that the i’m sorry sorry are you okay um can i help you out yeah give me a hundred real quick real quick let me get that given that uh the reason they give for that is the if you look at the price of homes and divide that by the average income in the town that number is extremely high which would indicate that people are not making enough money to afford the homes there and so that that affects a lot of towns here’s the thing in prescott a lot of people are retired correct they don’t show a lot of income they have a lot of money yes so when you look at that ratio it’s going to be yeah oh you know your your uh uh property value to income is off the chart yeah he’s got four million dollars in the bank right it’s not going anywhere so we say nay to that yeah because just because we are a very unique market yeah they they ran the numbers they picked the top 10 15 cities in the country that popped at the top and they wrote an article about it um obviously they’ve never been to prescott i can’t see why that’s an issue here i don’t know of anyone i can’t think of anyone offhand who’s even close to you know oh it’s going to be difficult for them to maintain the payment on their homes these guys came here to retire and they’re having a great time and they’re going to be here for a while they’re not worried about making their house note yeah because number one either they pay cash yeah or number two they’ve had such a huge down payment their house note is negligible yeah so for us i always keep in mind the prescott market is quite unique yeah um our median age here is 55 and older so these are people who are not moving here for the industry for the jobs to start a new career this is a career test yeah and all of our friends god bless you we hope we can join you one day everybody’s having the time of their lives that’s right uh they’re golfing they’re jeeping they’re you know uh hiking they’re having a fabulous time they’re not really worried about income so when you hear these stories um don’t fret so much about prescott in itself uh this is a huge retirement town i have people who call me and say i’m looking for a 55 plus neighborhood and i’m like can i be honest all of prescott is basically 55 plus yeah it’s it’s it’s essentially a retirement community yeah i mean you don’t need to be in a particular neighborhood um most of our neighbors are retired um we’re kind of one of the few that are not but um don’t fret the crash crash here in prescott yeah i feel like it’s gonna be okay yeah i you know i i struggled to see what would what would do it yeah uh what drives a lot of our home sales here and the home value prices are people coming from other states mostly along the west coast uh that relocate here because it’s more affordable uh it’s a nice place you don’t have to go someplace where it’s a skabillion degrees uh and in 157 humidity or you know mesquite we don’t have any of that right you know it’s a very nice place so people can come here um the cost of living is low we talk in some of our other videos we talk about the arbitrage where you can sell your home where you are now typically some place like california and you can buy a home equivalent and bank a fair amount of money if the prices in california go down they may go down here too as long as we have a a as long as we’re less than california it would still make sense uh to make that move and i i i just i don’t see how um i don’t see how we end up with a bubble i really don’t i i don’t think price prices can’t keep going up the way they have i understand that we all do i think things are going to flatten out i think things are going to moderate i just don’t see a bubble that there’s something artificial that’s been holding this up all along and it’s just gonna crash i think maybe we undervalued real estate after the crash in 2008 for too long and uh and we had a big you know upward correction and and kobe pushed to store that i don’t know i i was surprised to see the prices go up as fast as they did but uh i don’t see them i i don’t see what would is their bubble to pop i don’t know i don’t know at least you know prescott is a very unique market and um we’re kind of a special little bubble here so you can’t really compare us to the other national markets yeah you know that’s my opinion yeah um and we’re small too we’re not a big player it’s not like we need millions of people moving here to get this right i mean do we have a crystal ball no no but i do have a crystal ball but i but i can’t use it to predict the future i’ve tried i just can’t okay so anyway we just thought we’d share this little two-bit uh two cents of information and uh just our personal opinion of course it is an opinion it’s not fact that’s right it’s not scientific but we just thought we’d give our little two cents of info on how we think things are going we are a very special
