these videos I’m a little Punchy because we’ve been working hard that’s what makes them good yeah the punch you ever get to find the funnier I had fun or I think to myself funner funny funnier funnier funner funner I’m funnier I am no fun you know yeah when we’re tired it’s the best time to film when you’re tired you’re to talk Prescott Lakes about basket Lakes Prescott Lakes so this is uh our very favorite Community here in Prescott uh very popular with our incoming buyers so we thought we’d take some time and talk about Prescott Lakes yeah we chose to live here yeah I’ve been here about seven years but it’s still a nice place even though we’re here yeah we didn’t bring down the values yeah yeah not much people tolerate us here but when I show Show Prescott Lakes has become quite the destination for people coming in from out of town they’ve heard about Prescott Lakes they want to be in Prescott Lakes they want to see what it’s all about and this is right up my alley because we Why We Love It Here truly love it here when we came here I could care less about living in a country club I don’t golf I could care less about gated communities it meant nothing to me I ended up finding this house and I fell in love with the house and here I am um I absolutely love living in a country club environment which I never thought never really thought that through it’s really not me at all where we’re from Rethinking Country Clubs country clubs are kind of snooty and it’s all about you know putting on airs and that is not true not here not right we have people here from Super you know way up in business CEOs retired CEOs I mean we’ve got all people from all walks of life and everybody here is very warm friendly welcoming nobody cares where you came from what you did what what’s your bottom line yeah that doesn’t happen here yeah we’re all one big happy family and that’s truth and so we go and New Friends we have met everybody here is in the same boat we’re we don’t have any family here we don’t have any friends here and we have met some of the closest friends we’ve ever had here in Prescott it’s kind of a bond we have and we’ve just hit it off with uh many many people here and we just have a great time so if you like most people coming in to Prescott you know you’re retiring and you really don’t know anyone here yes we do that’s a plus if you don’t that’s okay uh places like Prescott Lakes the way we describe it is Plug and Play social that’s right if you don’t meet new people here living in Prescott Lakes that’s on you yeah there’s every opportunity yeah we have a private Private Restaurant restaurant which by the way when you belong to Prescott Lakes no minimum food and beverage which is a plus um but anyway you can come and enjoy all the social events they have they always have a band playing a party on the Terrace and they’ll have a buffet dinner that you can go to they have a Mother’s Day brunch a Father’s Day brunch Easter brunch New Year’s Eve a giant party yeah all with live music I mean and you just get a table of friends and you have a great time yeah and it’s just lovely Athletic Center they also offer an amazing athletic center beautiful beautiful with top-notch equipment that they trade out every two or three years so you’re never honest yeah old Machinery exercise classes yes are included in your fee yeah I just built out a huge new room where all the exercise classes it’s amazing beautiful um they have great outdoor pool indoor pool pickle ball is huge here chicks pickleball court six or eight I’m not in yeah a lot tennis courts I mean the list goes on and on and on and uh so if you don’t come here and get connected with somebody in some type of way whether it’s athletic or through the social well you’re just not doing something wrong Golf Course you’re not putting yourself out there beautiful golf yes if you are a golfer this is one you’re going to have to see and again the the even the golfers are nice here which is saying a lot super nice yeah super super nice most of our friends are are involved in golf that’s right but we are not but um we socialize with them but they have a Arnold Palmer uh Affiliated Golf Course uh that you can trade out if you travel throughout other parts of the country and then they’re about to and they’re looking to improve they’re sink in a million dollars and new bunkers or redesigning the bunkers uh Prescott Lakes as a new general manager yes who is uh great new blood and visions of all kinds of things uh that’s right so we’re very happy not Many Clubs only that we have clubs within the club so when you join here when you move here you can join the bridge Club the hiking Club the book club gardening the gardening club um I mean you name it the Women’s Club the ping pong Club it goes on and on and on so if you’re coming here and you’re retiring like how will I fill my time the legs will do it for you yeah I mean it’s easy peasy it’s like shooting fish in a barrel you’ll meet the nicest friends um and have a wonderful time we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here yeah for sure we love it now in terms of the Housing Situation housing there are about 1500 houses maybe a little less than that um they they have a couple of more neighborhoods to build most of the existing neighborhoods are built out there’s a little bit of construction going on but there are not that many vacant Lots left in the neighborhoods that already constructed uh the place started in the late 90s Yes Columbus of the homes date back to the early 2000s but there’s still new construction going on uh so kind of a mixture there are Neighborhoods about 12 or 13 different neighborhoods summer gated some are not not that you need a gate but yeah so these neighborhoods yeah the different price points these neighborhoods are under the umbrella so they’re all part of Prescott Lakes but it’s a neighborhood within the subdivision and yeah the different neighborhoods have different styles as as the lady mentioned some are gated some are not some are designed some are huge palatial homes uh all the way down to condos townhouses uh some homes are designed to be easy lock and leave but very low maintenance not a lot of yard others are built on half acre designed to be you know sort of spaced out and you know and and everything in between so you would be hard-pressed not to find something here and be happy with the lifestyle and the move here yeah I can’t speak highly enough about it and the whole staff at the club amazing people People amazing they’re always you know dead on we had a client come in extra early and they went in the kitchen and made them a small breakfast yeah even though we don’t serve breakfast don’t even serve breakfast but that our folks came in early I guess they miscalculated when they would arrive and didn’t hit as much traffic as they thought so they ended up being really early they called us we were on the other side of town so it took us a little while to get there and the staff just took it upon themselves to take care of them give them a little something to eat while they were waiting for us that’s the kind of folks and that’s what uh Prescott Lakes is all about camaraderie friendship yeah um just lovely people good times good Other Videos on Prescott Lakes times you’ll see a lot of other videos on our channel that kind of cover you’ll see parties on the Terrace uh some of the events uh you you I think we did one on Easter buffet yeah recently so so if you look around you’ll see some of the events and get a ourselves to be the Prescott Lake specialist um we do a lot of business we do a lot of business here we love it now we will show you all around town uh generally if people are coming in they’re retiring we show them around uh usually on the first trip we focus on showing different kinds of communities and I would say seven eight times out of ten well I don’t want to do Prescott I think I hello hello peeps hello hello and hello hello hello and hello Diane and Randall bro here yes we are uh coming to you live from the beautiful town of Prescott Arizona pick a lady live a mile high of the mountains just getting back from Los Angeles went had a nice little time with our with our kiddos that’s right uh celebrating our daughter’s engagement yes yes good time to Addie and Jake yes cheers we can’t wait for the big day but every time we we go to La we feel compelled to tell our story there’s always something interesting that happens um and this time there’s nothing like driving almost seven hours and you’re tired and you jump in a nice hot tub and you just want to relax and soak and there’s no body wash Airbnb so I’m like well there must be a dreadful mistake surely they it’s got to be under the cabinet It’s gotta be nobody wash anywhere in any of the bathrooms so I reach out to our Airbnb fellow and I say hey any idea where the body wash is oh we don’t have any you can go to the store and buy it yeah you gotta buy your own body wash and then you know will reimburse you okay well not going to help me at midnight don’t want to hop out the tub and go get the body wash anyway I use hand soap that was an interesting experience as well it worked but anyway the point is so when I yeah when I get to the store the next morning I go down the aisle while the the body washes and it’s all behind glass and locked locked case yeah now I’ve seen this in other areas for you know medication allergy medication not body wash so I’m standing there like a fish out of water I’m like how do I obtain this elusive body wash surely there’s a way for me to get this and a fellow Los Angeles Los Angelo and how do you say it I don’t know anyway he says oh you have to press the button and get help for that and I said get help to get body wash yeah I mean what crazy it’s not the bath crystals that I understand is a thing but body wash apparently in Los Angeles it’s a heavily stolen item yeah so uh I did not wait for that I noticed that on the side of it there wasn’t a protection so I just slid my my arm behind it and grabbed where I wanted and left but the point is is that if you come here to Prescott we’re not going to have stuff like that yeah it’s you’re yeah I’ve never seen anything like it everything in this entire grocery store was behind the glass it’s uh kind of a sad way to live your life uh personally is what I think but hey to each his own yeah uh I took matters into my own hands and grabbed my own body wash yeah I hope they don’t apprecially yeah correct although from what I understand if I had left with it I would have been okay with that yeah yeah yeah so that yeah so that yeah our understanding is the reason why they had to do this is if you go into a drugstore wherever and you steal something that’s less than like 950 that’s right uh as long as you’re not orange they’re not gonna prosecute yeah people do it so they put everything behind glass I don’t know if you can go into a restaurant and have a meal for less than 950 and just walk out yeah I don’t know if you can do that but it’s it’s funny because these things kind of build on one another uh last year we were in LA and they had all the blackouts so the blackouts hit right when they were announcing that it was going to be mandatory by I don’t know 2035 or whatever it is that all cars on the road are going to have to be electric cars and I’m thinking okay so you can’t provide electricity for what you have already if we had a bunch of electric cars because they have a lot of electric cars I’m thinking you know what this party needs right now is about 50 000 cars that have run out of juice and random durations during the blackout and people everybody stuck in the roads yeah and what I’ve heard too is uh some people who they are saying you know they they say during blackout time uh please don’t charge your cars up overnight yeah so how do you get to work I don’t know I don’t understand it’s a whole nother conundrum to me I just was fascinated by lockdown body wash yeah so I couldn’t get over that yeah so so first you know with covid you can’t get toilet paper so that means body wash is at a premium yeah the body wash by the way was very exorbitant it was 11.99 yes or a little box little little tiny bottle yeah wow so you got a City full of people who are broiling in the summer they have no electricity can’t put on there uh their AC and then they can’t use body wash so everyone’s gonna stink I mean just you can use body wash you just have to be patient and wait and wait I guess you can’t run in and buy some yeah yeah it’s a process well anyway you you reached the point where if you’re somewhere maybe you’re in La maybe or someplace else maybe you’ve been thinking about maybe moving on there’s a phenomenon called The Boiled frog and I don’t know if this is true but they say if you put a frog in a pan of water and you and you heat him up he won’t jump out if you heat him slowly you’ll be able to boil the Frog will stand because it gets hot slowly and he gets used to it and that’s kind of how you know you’re living in La you’re used to the you know the the black step by step you get used to things and you become accepting and not into everything that continues to happen that nothing shocks you anymore yeah until you have a body wash moment and then it’s kind of like I I can’t believe all right that’s it I kind of that’s the last straw you kind of hit your limit so I think at the Airbnb they don’t provide uh body wash because people take it people take it and it’s costly for them and I get all that you know but not helpful when I wanted to so if you’ve had a body wash moment you know where you’ve kind of where everything’s enough and it’s been getting worse and it’s getting worse when you hit that body wash moment let us know what your body wash moment was what was the last straw it’s like no I really do have to get out I Gotta Get out no matter where you go yeah whether it’s California Washington or again anywhere New Jersey uh yeah the typical States yeah so you got Khalid the exit Estates now I guess are uh California Oregon Washington New Jersey Massachusetts Massachusetts uh Colorado I think is now kind of becoming Exodus so if you come from one of those places what was your last straw we’d like to hear yeah yeah I’m gonna hear we’re here Live Strong and I can assure you here none of the none of these years go at any time anytime any day uh at night or day and grab myself a nice thing of body wash for maybe 5.99 and walk out the store and pay for it and and not have to be waited on people smell better here I think they do they cost so much to have body wash it’s helpful it’s helpful body wash is a good thing yeah so you know people’s thinking that’s uh you gotta get them you got to get people clean that’s the first step towards civilization that’s right absolutely so um you know it’s our way we’re just so fun and having some fun I personally think it’s a little outrageous that I have to get assistance to get body wash off a shelf maybe other people are perfectly fine with that I’m entitled to my opinion that’s right so please don’t shoot the messenger I’m just kind of expressing my little opinion take with it what you want yeah I’ll plug upstairs it sounds like she’s not too well hello hello hello there hello peeps how are my fellow pickle peeps out there today I think they’re doing pretty well well we’re excited to be here spring has sprung spring has sprung here in our beautiful beautiful Town we’re getting tons of people coming in uh this is the time people are traveling in they want to see what we’re all about absolutely here in Prescott but today we’re going to cover some reasons not to come now we’ve actually been asked that you know you guys talked about Prescott and all the wonderful things so if someone doesn’t come to Prescott or decides to leave prescube that’s right why is that why do they what are the negatives what are the negatives so we thought about that because we were kind of hard-pressed we’re like well I don’t know we love it yeah we love it decide not to come so these are the reasons that people have actually we’ve actually experienced these these people you know they they either left or decided not to come for these reasons that’s right so number one is jobs jobs you should know that Prescott is you know honestly predominantly a retirement Town yeah so yeah you’re still working and you want to come to Prescott you should already have a job you should already have a job have your job lined up if you are in the health care profession maybe Insurance maybe Hospitality or a realtor you could find something you could probably find something in your education you know the usual suspects but right in terms of having like giant advertising firms or or big companies here it’s not a headquarter tale it’s not yeah it’s not it’s a nice quiet you’re doing the job search you need a job chances are present right for you you might have better luck out in Prescott Valley yeah yeah but in terms of you know finding a regular job like you would in a larger City might be a little bit more limiting for you yes so you should be aware of that yeah the second thing we get a lot of I’m not sure how people get confused on this yes it’s always fascinating to me but they say I need to be by water yeah well you should know specifically beaches right and beaches yeah so if you’re looking for sand and sun we are a mountain town we’re a mountain town if there were beaches here you’d be building an ark everything would be under the water so we do have some Lakes we do have some water sports so Lake Powell that people go to people drive over to Lake Havasu but we certainly don’t have a seashore that’s no no Seashore here people are like I’d like to live on the water well we have a couple of reservoirs that back up back up so you will never be able to find a house uh on the water um we just don’t there’s Donuts to offer people want streams or Creeks or whatever running through their backyard we can find maybe a handful of those but it’s just not that common so be aware this is a mountain town he’s correct total mountain town we don’t have beaches we don’t have a lot of water front you know properties here we just have beautiful mountains beautiful views beautiful Dells yeah outdoor activity we got other things but no beaches no beaches so sorry about that not a lot of access to water number three do you have altitude uh we are about a mile high we’re about the same altitude as Denver yep and some people have a problem with that yeah it takes a little while to kind of adapt and adjust we did too because we came from kind of below sea levels below sea level so we went up a mile and uh and you you find yourself breathless a lot uh your lungs will expand and and get used to it you will adapt yeah um but some people you know that we had uh some people that we knew who uh they got coveted damaged their lungs they had to move to a lower altitude so if you have lung issues um you know if you have trouble hanging out in a city like Denver for example it’s a mile high you’re going to have trouble here yeah some people get altitude sickness and those kind of areas so keep that in mind particularly if you do have a lot of um uh lung issues because it could be problematic for you now it’s just the altitude our air quality is good on the plus side the air quality is amazing the air quality is very very good but it is one of the top 10 Towns of great air quality in the United States yeah so keep that in mind if you are you know are on an oxygen tank this might be a little bit tougher for you to adapt to but you can you will and you’ll survive yep number four politics the most controversial very controversial all right so if in case you haven’t heard Prescott is kind of a conservative town we are predominantly a red town I say predominantly we’re the majority of people here are red are Republicans that’s right there’s a mixture there’s a mixture there is but for the most part you know press could uh gem really you know they’re more Republicans than Democrats uh and some people have a problem with that now if you are considering moving to let’s say Texas now a lot of people are Texas is a lot more we’ve lived in Texas we’ve lived in Prescott Texas is a lot more conservative than Prescott that is a very conservative brand you know Ultra conservative and and Prescott not that much very tolerant people uh for the most part we’re about Freedom we’re a western town totally you’re from the Constitution yeah the Constitution I believe in constitutional law so but you know if you’re the kind of person you’re going to lose your mind if you see I find that offensive yeah a political sign for a republican candidate in a window and you don’t like yeah that people are going to put up their signs here and uh they’re not ostracized for doing that no uh they can put all about respect yeah whatever political sign you want and it’s not for the most part it’s not going to be destroyed your own’s not going to be vandalized no you’re not going to be ostracized We Believe In free free speech and freedom of opinion I guess that’s right and so people do that if you want to live someplace where dissenting political views are repressed Prescott’s not your place you know we don’t do that everyone’s afraid to have everything yes yeah and I have to say living here so I’m more in the middle I’m not really Ultra liberal I’m not ultra-conservative I’m politically we’re not real political at all actually I don’t really care everybody has the right to their own opinion to each his own uh I just want to have peace but I will say here that most people who might be a little more to the right yeah uh are very tolerant though I mean you know most of our we have friends who are on both sides yeah we do absolutely and we all could have lovely discussions there’s nothing ugly here nothing um intolerant yeah Prescott is not an intolerant at all everybody’s very friendly and they’re like okay you know to each other and I can honestly that’s been my experience and I I haven’t heard from any of my friends that they’ve experienced anything different uh we do fund the police here uh we support the police we support our vets yes we support our firefighters you will see American flags here yes you will see the American flags with the was it black and blue to support the police correct we’ll see those yes uh because there are people that are very vocal about their support for police and we’ve got a lot of we have a lot of veterans and police officers there’s some firefighters who retired a huge support uh in this town for those folks yes and uh also you should know uh this is an open carry cons you know yeah and we had another video that that went over guns and you know shooting and how people like to shoot here uh people like guns here so if you can’t live in a neighborhood where some of your neighbors might have a gun um not your place because a lot of people true that’s true and just as a little aside it you want to live someplace where the the police are not funded or defunded uh you might want to have a gun I don’t know don’t go someplace where you get them either I have to say guns do scare me I you know as long as you’re properly trained uh we have a lot of friends and they are gun owners and responsible gun owners and um it is kind of fun to go shooting at the shooting range and go shoot out outside in the mountains that’s kind of fun and for the most part it is about fun because it is everything it’s very safe here you know so yes yes so the other thing is physical response physical responsibility yeah so again the conservatism thing our local government is very fiscally responsible taxes do not keep going up no surprises no surprises you know and and people want that you know if you’re retiring and you have a limited Nest Egg you want to know you’re going to move someplace that’s going to be fiscally responsible um then your money won’t wear out and your money won’t wear out so run out run out run out yeah your money won’t run out um because of increasing taxes or this this new tax added or that new tax ad it really doesn’t happen here so um I don’t want to hear any negative comments I’m just stating the fact I’m reporting the facts I am neutral I’m on neither side I just live my life work hard and uh try to be a good person yeah I am not firmly entrenched on either side of politics uh I’m just here to serve you and help you find a great house yeah and have a good time while we’re doing it yeah but for some people who really want to know the inside skinny yeah we just want to let you know what you can expect if it’s important to you to live in a community that’s predominantly blue and you don’t want anyone with guns and and all the things that you should know we mentioned then you know this probably isn’t the place for you I don’t want anyone to move and then be horribly disappointed or feel like this isn’t quite a good fit I’m not happy so we try to just educate everybody Frank Right Center okay so I know you may not some people may not like to hear all this but anyway the facts are the facts so there they are and we have known people who’ve decided you know this is this place is too conservative for us and we think we feel and I respect that you know everybody has to be happy where they land yeah you always have the freedom of voting with your feet we talk about voting with your feet before that’s right um but you know obviously it would be better to avoid having to do that we don’t want you to come here and decide nah these aren’t my my folks as I said we are friends with people from all walks of life yeah people from both sides on on either side part of the fence on party wise um and you know what we all have a great time we’re all tolerant we support each other and it’s uh some good friends out there so don’t let that necessarily deter you just come out and try it out and see what you think absolutely all right so that’s our little tips for the day for the day today some maybe possibly negative things about it yeah it’s kind of hard for us yeah negative things it was hard positive things we’ve had the questions so we thought we needed to uh to field it these are things we get in the car all the time when we’re out on our tour s so there no no comments please I really don’t care if you don’t like it if you don’t like it you can delete it okay yeah you can delete it and say bye bye bye now we were asked for it so we have bonjour hello peeps hello hello and hello Diane and Randall bro here she’s the pickle Eddie I’m her sidekick that is correct Prescott Arizona yes and we are excited to be here to talk about something we don’t miss at all yeah we don’t miss it all coming from the Deep South that’s right and now we’ve landed in this beautiful little mountain town it’s 5300 square feet up in the air yeah we love it and it is the lack of mosquitoes mosquitoes I mean we grew up with them it was our state bird where we where we rate where we were raised yeah in Louisiana and Then followed us to Texas yeah uh when you come here very few mosquitoes now you may be living in a place where that doesn’t matter you know they love it some of our exited States California uh Oregon Washington Colorado um you know you may live in a place where there’s not a whole lot of mosquitoes and so you take that for granted right and you decide that you want to move and you’re going to go to uh one of the popular destinations like Texas or Florida yep uh South Carolina is getting popular um you need to introduce yourself to mosquitoes if you’re thinking about going to a place like that you need to go there during the summer and take a walk at night before you make up your mind because sit without spraying yourself with off yes you need to fully Embrace that try it out yeah see if that’s a problem for you if you think you’re going to be sitting out by on the PA on the patio enjoying yourself by your pool and maybe not a couple things you should know first of all if you’re going camp which I’m not a camper but I used to take my our girls uh camping when they were little through the YMCA and we’d go camping and you would just douse your child yes with insecticide so they wouldn’t be eaten alive there was no other way to do it you had to do it had to do it uh so you’ll be doing that and the other thing is mosquito trucks so at night in places like Texas and South Carolina and Louisiana there are these trucks that spew insecticide into the air yep and they drive up and down uh residential streets doing that to kill mosquitoes mosquitoes are a big deal and if you have an interesting process to watch it yeah it’s hard to overestimate the the challenge of mosquitoes yeah but you don’t have to you will not experience that here in Prescott Valley yeah you will know mosquitoes are not a thing yes uh the temperature is cool enough I mean unless we have a ton of a ton of rain and a lot of standing water which you know is not doesn’t happen it doesn’t have too much here you get down very rarely yeah you know you might get a few I have noticed too that when there are when you do have a mosquito uh from time to time generally you can kill them with one finger you know you just go Boop and they tie they’re like really dumb or really tired they do seem to be way more aggressive in the South they still want to keep on yeah you sweat your leg and it’s like a cloud around you and they land right back on you yeah they’re survivors down the South they know how to avoid yeah down here they’re not so up here I should say they’re not so smart so that was one of the things we that Delight us about the really the State of Arizona yes and very few bugs and not a lot of roaches that’s another thing huge in Louisiana and Texas roaches are your second pet yeah don’t save too much here yeah and they thought about it yeah they’re they’re also nothing almost like bird-like yeah don’t talk about it I forgot about that yeah you go back and it’s like oh my God so that’s very pleasant yeah um also so people will ask us too do you have a lot of um scorpions uh and that’s how much here in Prescott will I see an occasional one yeah you will see sometimes tarantulas but mostly they love to get out on the asphalt on the roads do I see them in my house no we’ve seen that in again in six years I’ve seen maybe four yeah five on the road on the road never in the house so anyway so I would trade that for mosquitoes any day oh yeah me too absolutely they don’t care they just they don’t want to bother you just leave them alone so if you’re looking for a relatively bug-free annoying bugs like you know mosquitoes and and all of that good stuff Prescott is the place for you roaches good place not really so it’s uh very nice good place yeah good place to be relatively pest free and if you think about some other destinations if it’s yeah in the South termites just will just form overnight it doesn’t matter uh I’m not doing California I’m not sure about Colorado I know in California and maybe Oregon too the uh termites are big termites are made in Louisiana they’re huge if Lumber touches the ground at vaporize that’s it within seconds yes so my mother-in-law actually had a termite contract the house was fully all every year fully treated for termites we were there visiting and here come the termites right through the right through the frame of the door yeah so even though they’re treated still there so uh termites are not real big here either you should know that so unless you actually invite them and make it like a nice Airbnb for them yes or wood in standing water leaning on your house for long periods of time then you may get them yeah but other than that really not we do not have a termite contract on our house don’t need it don’t need it in the South everybody California gotta have to turn my contract so a little bit of savings there for you all right my friends well that’s our tip on pest mosquitoes especially and all the other Critters that uh the bane of that’s right okay he’s talking about javelinas yet again we do have some nice javelinas our regulars will remember the skunk pig that’s right yeah that’s right so we are here to talk about something that keeps popping up quite a bit lately yeah and we thought it was very important to bring up and discuss and address and that is the issue of water water uh is there going to be water shortages here in Prescott yes the short answer is no no no people come up here oh yeah I heard Prescott’s Running Out of Water absolutely yes we’re not running out of water I just I I don’t know where it comes from I know a lot of people have in other areas of Arizona make presumptions or assumptions whatever you want to talk about however you want to call it about Prescott they don’t live here they don’t really fully understand um it is not an issue here yeah um there are some towns in Prescott mostly down in the valley that are experiencing water shortages and issues kind of on the west side I think Buckeyes 101 yeah Buckeyes one of them correct so it is my tenuous understanding of their situation not our situation yeah so these communities were built and they did not provide for water at least one of them was taking uh now the I guess it’s the Ohio some Colorado River some river is being uh reallocated so uh Scottsdale cut them off yeah Scottsdale was kind enough to kind of share for a while and now times have changed so they’re worried it’s been getting a lot of press because uh these towns are pulling from aquifers I guess and if they pull too fast they will lose flow and lose their water supply so this is a big deal the only thing that would make it worse is if it were in any way our problem here in Prescott it is not uh so I don’t know how they’re going to solve their problem but we do not it is unfortunate it does happen as things develop and people spread out I understand um but here in Prescott we have to have a hundred year plan so any major development that comes in has to prove they have access to water in the aquifers for at least 100 years yeah yeah and that’s not pulling from the awkward yeah they have to come up with some other source most of the town is pulling from an aquifer so snow falls further north than us where all the mountains are like Flagstaff and all that and that water flows downhill we are about a quarter mile lower than Flagstaff so we we get flow at this point in time we are pulling from the aquifer all new construction we’ll have to have a 100 year plan that’s outside of the aquifer uh we are degrading our um our aquifer at point two percent a year 0.02 it’s a very small amount which means that the aquifer will dry up in about 450 years right they’re already on it and they’re already trying to address it to bring us to even so we’re not depleting anymore so uh we are managing it well we don’t have a problem and no one anticipates a problem over a very long time and we’re already intervening so yeah we’re wet we’re pretty Progressive we’re uh look ahead we plan ahead um so if you come to Prescott don’t have any fears about water restrictions or water shortages or running out of water the other thing to consider is we are pretty much a rock city we don’t have a lot of Lawns we don’t have any agriculture here where we’re watering lots of crops and tomatoes or almonds or whatever we don’t have any of that so there isn’t a lot of draw on the water everyone is pretty much very escaped here your front yard is Rock uh low you know plants that take low watering strip system I lived in Texas Force 17 years I had more water restrictions in Texas all the time I have water restrictions no running water between this time and this time I have yet to receive anything like that here like any notification to please you know not use as much water between five and not anything like that so um when you’re coming here I know it’s a big concern for a lot of people and it should be rightfully so but here in Prescott it is not an issue we are really working hard on keeping this to be a non-issue yeah yeah so so responsibly managed yes and uh yeah we don’t have a sprinkler system we have drip systems yeah and it literally drips yeah so you don’t have that yeah we don’t have any of that and this spraying water we just have little slow drips this little Chinese water yes that’s it so uh the people who are coming in they’re not they’re not really demanding a whole lot of water we do take showers we do drink water yes bathroom yeah that’s about it and there are golf courses but you know there are golf courses not enough since yeah so keep that in mind um if that is one of your concerns we just wanted to allay your fears that um really not water here is not a big issue and it’s not going to be an issue for the foreseeable future as well so I know there is some talk in other towns but keep in mind that’s in the valley yeah that’s down in the Phoenix area more the desert heavy desert oh they do have some places outside of Prescott um uh in Dewey Humboldt the Dewey Humboldt area the paulden area where there was uh mining where some of the water has been contaminated that’s not anywhere close to us correct us right so not not to worry here aquifer we don’t know no no no it’s all good it’s all good water is our tip for the day so if you’re getting the tips the place to go is hello hello hello peeps welcome back to another version of the wind down that’s good pickle ladies one day yeah coming back at you here Diane and Randall bro here in Prescott happy to talk to you about our favorite thing puppy dog the dogs this is called doggie Redux that’s right we’re gonna talk about it again that’s right because we just love dogs yeah we’ve had a number of episodes in the past about dogs at dog park and bringing your dog to different places around town uh but uh you know dogs keep coming back so dogs keep coming back they’re uh in our hearts um you know you’ll see a lot of them and sadly back in November we lost one of our favorite pups and it was very traumatic terrible experience I did very unexpected totally young yeah totally unexpected so instead uh to recover from all that what did we do we went and adopted two two dogs two dogs sisters who look exactly like her and another dog we had that’s right prior to that so now we’ve got two dogs that duplicated the original two we had and we just named them the same thing you might hear from them in a second they may bark or wine which one of them is doing right now he wants to be part of the part of the recording but we wanted to stress again if you are a dog lover Prescott is the place Prescott’s a great place for it everybody loves their dogs here it’s a great way to meet people especially right yeah the dog parks yeah so when when dog uh when Frankie uh passed yeah you know Diane would take the dog out walking all the time and it’s amazing how quickly people started asking I haven’t seen you out with Frankie I know we had quite a little community in the early morning the early morning Walkers yeah um and after she passed I had people I hadn’t even met before but apparently they would have their morning coffee and watch me and Frankie walk by and they’re like oh we missed that beautiful black dog I said oh I’m so yeah it was sad but so interesting yeah we’re still training the new dogs and we’re trying to car train them as well Frankie uh was a big fan of car rides so at least once a day more like twice a day she would jump in the back of my car and I’d roll the windows windows down four and we’d go through town or whatever and people got used to seeing the big black dog that held the window and you’re gonna see a lot of those cars too A lot of people drive by with their dogs lots of dogs out uh it’s just a really uh warm and welcoming community Unity for pups especially restaurants love them restaurants welcome them people walk around the square people go to the parks and bring their chairs and meet other people so it is a great way if you’re new here to meet new people who also love dogs as well but it’s just good to have a dog it’s just good to have too it’s absolutely Although our hounds of hell I don’t know right now they’re trying my patience yeah they’re they’re puppies and we’re training them so uh they haven’t been to the dog park yet they just got their shots yeah uh they’re not crazy about car rides but they’re getting bigger I think probably within the next couple of months you’ll see me driving around with two dogs two dogs and they go get their pup cups and their whipped cream and they love it yeah so life is good life is good so if you have pups life is good is even better here in Prescott if you have pups you’ll love it and uh you’ll see how welcoming our town is to puppies I put some links in the bottom of this episode that will take you to other videos about dogs in the dog park and all that for your reference that’s right uh just another tip if you’re coming to Prescott you’re into dogs you’re in the right place you got it uh if you’re into tips the place to go is pickle411.com that is our free information site whether you are a buyer seller somewhere in between there is information waiting for you that will Astound amaze and entertain you to no end we try to deliver people we really try to deliver absolutely all right so that’s our tip for the day we’ll show you maybe some footage of our new pups yeah absolutely they’re so cute yeah I’ll interspace them some dog footage in you’ll see you’ll see what we’re what we’re dealing with that’s right okay so we welcome you and your pups that’s right come on into uh Prescott another tip too is sometimes you have people who bring their doggies they’re welcome to come on the house hunt with you oh that’s right yeah that’s right come on in our van yeah we we make room for your pup and uh they’re welcome to join in the house hunt as well that’s right so anyway just want to throw that out too because we welcome your animals yeah we welcome your problem yeah all right have a great day and we hope to hear from you soon bye cheers

Altitude

what up we’re up buttercup hello hello hello this is Randall and I am Diane bro coming to you from Prescott Arizona we are your local top real estate agents uh we love to work together as a team not always sometimes not always it’s not always loving it not always we always do it we always want it sometimes we get into it yeah usually we love it sometimes we aggravate each other yeah but part of the deal it’s part of the deal part of the charm oh the charm yeah is it speaking of being up today we want to talk to you about altitude so we do have people asking us questions about altitude first off altitude is what makes Prescott Prescott uh the reason why we are 20 degrees cooler than uh Phoenix is that we’re a mile high they’re not that’s right we’re just like Denver we are a mile high we’re about 5300 feet up which enables us to have this beauty four weathers for for weathers Four Seasons yeah you know um and that’s why we we’re not super hot in the summer yeah we’re not super cold it’s just like the perfect climate yeah the weather’s not that the air is nice and clean we’re watching the top clean yeah so something to keep in mind and we get this a lot some people have trouble with high altitude if you travel to Denver and you’ve had no issues you’ll probably be fine here but you should know we came from below sea level so when we came here you know we were used to oh I’m walking up the stairs holding my breath can’t do that here yeah you tend that you’ll get light-headed fast yeah you probably have never noticed this if you lived uh um at sea level your whole life like we did before but when people go upstairs they tend to hold their breath yeah or they’re doing any kind of physical yeah yeah you tend to hold your breath uh so if you do that here and you’re not used to the altitude you’ll be out of breath when you get to the top of the stairs and that’s it can be a little disconcerting uh you kind of have to teach yourself to keep breathing when you’re going upstairs uh if you’re doing breathe through it like you’re having a baby yeah breathe through it and just breathe keep breathing breathing don’t hold your breath yes and that will take care of most of the issues you have with breathlessness yeah and altitude I find and the other thing is um as you get here your lungs will acclimate yes and it’ll the breathing will it’ll get easier and easier you won’t even think about it anymore and when I first came here sometimes I would get lightheaded I’d get a little headache the other thing too with the altitude you can get dehydrated very quickly here so drink water all day long take your time breathing breathe through whatever activity you’re doing and you’ll be fine and then all of a sudden you’ll realize your lungs have kind of expanded a bit and it’s no problem yeah just um just the dry the dry weather the the dry climate kind of um tends to make you uh lose uh fluid and you don’t know it so if you’re in Louisiana and you’re hot you’re sweating you’re dripping wet you know you’re losing fluid right here you don’t you stay comfortable so you can dehydrate without realizing it the trick is if you start to get a little bit of a headache kind of a hangover headache yeah uh that’s pretty hard for us to tell sometimes yeah normally so if you uh if you feel that kind of coming on uh you drink a bottle of water suddenly you feel great again so that’s dehydration dehydration and altitude if you do have lung issues uh you you want to look for that um you know come visit and try it out see how you do and see how you do see if you’re comfortable if you’re having real issues that’s something to take into consideration yeah because the altitude is not going away here yeah it’s not going to go um it’s not going away so if you can come and it’s fine and you’re functioning good signs all good signs most people adapt pretty quickly yeah people come here that no absolutely so we just want to throw that out there that we’re pretty up here we’re very unique in the state of Arizona and it’s just beautiful here so if you want to enjoy four beautiful Seasons none that are extreme this is the place for you place the checkout we love it yeah we’re digging life here we’re digging life here I love it I love altitude you love altitude yeah he’s high on life I’m high on altitude I’m not going to live at sea level again yeah [Music] so anyway that’s our little tip of the day for those of you so a lot of people ask us about altitude and pressure and you know being able to breathe and all that and it’s really not a problem it’ll adjust and you’ll love it and um so we just wanted to pass that on to you yep and thank you for listening and we hope that you have the most amazing wonderful day absolutely right Cheers Cheers

hello hello hello hello peeps excuse me I got a little tickled excuse me welcome welcome this is Diane and Randall we’re in Prescott Arizona coming to you live recording recording live we’re recording everyone records live yeah that’s pretty much because that’s redundant to say because yeah yeah it’s always live it’s a recording it’s not a recording we are here we get a lot of questions about this to our new folks who are buying and moving in yeah all about utilities here utilities so a couple things I want to say before we get into some of the the meat of this utilities here because a lot of people question especially coming out from California water is very reasonable electricity is very reasonable gas is very reasonable so you’re not going to be paying the high high utilities some of the bills that you see maybe in other areas of the country so we get a lot of concerned about that will there be enough water is there water rationing I just want to say real quick before we get into the other stuff no no we don’t have any water restrictions there are no water issues here they’re not predicting any water issues here any major development that goes in has to prove it has a 100 Year water plan and if they can’t they’re not building yeah they have to find another area so also not a big agricultural place here uh you know everything is zeriescape so as they say so people aren’t watering their lawns and all that so never think I had more water restrictions in Texas oh yeah we had water restrictions pretty pretty regular all the time I don’t run your water from this to this doesn’t have never happened so anyway and I just want to let you know utilities are not Uber expensive here never happen and don’t predict that they will be in the future a while ago I put together a schedule of our utilities month by month which is on our relocation Center if you go to our website prescottpicklelady.com you look for the relocation Center or you can go to Prescott relocationcenter.com and look up utilities um you’ll find our schedule there so don’t worry about that and of course ours is a little higher because I run it cold in the summer yeah yeah um but if you’re a person yeah and our house is a little over 3 000 square feet yeah so it’s a lot to AC it’s smaller so yeah so but I mean if you’re like most normal people who run their air on 75 you’ll be just fine don’t so don’t look at us as the best example the worst case I mean we’ll give you the worst case but something we were excited about and this will tie in now to utilities when you’re moving here and signing up we have a program through our brokerage that allows you just to go online and enter in your home that you’re in now and the new home that you’re going in and it will hook you up and disconnect so you don’t have to get on the phone like I did for 30 minutes and give all the information and this that and the other it makes it a lot easier yeah so the the program is called utility connect uh and it’s it’s driven by a very sophisticated technology called a human being something you contact them and they will assign you a human being who will do all that stuff for you uh the service is free yes uh they will help you schedule the disconnect of where you’re coming from and they will help you schedule the the connection on where you’re going to uh now some utility companies do not play with the utility connect people yeah uh well you know whether it’s in Prescott or you know maybe your utility company may not do that either if that’s the case then the concierge person uh will give you the contact information and tell you what you need to do so they’ll say hey whatever they won’t play with us but I’m going to give you the information and then you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way but um it sure is nice to have them help you with the disconnection yeah on the other end as well it’s a great great product and we’re really excited and we’ve had a couple of clients use it and say wow it was so much easier yeah and faster now we have all the utility numbers to call here in Prescott obviously we won’t have the numbers where you’re coming from uh those numbers can do it all we can’t do it all uh the but the utility connected will yeah um the numbers change we try to keep them up to date but that information changes and it’s different depending on what area you’re moving into the utility connect people will help you negotiate all that stuff make it as easy as they possibly can absolutely they’ll also do um your your phone your mail uh they’ll do uh I like the mail that’s good too yeah your internet connections and stuff like that that can do all that stuff for you so it’s a pretty cool product cool product yeah so anyway if you call us and we find you the home of your dreams we’re going to connect you to utility connect that’s right and uh just make one more piece of this move easy for you that’s right and that’s what we are all about Gemma Bell Randall this is Diana Randall bro here in Prescott Arizona we are your local hopefully favorite Realtors yes we sure have a lot of fun yeah we do meeting everybody new and old and uh having friendships after we sell we’ve met some great people but uh in fact some of these people have become such good friends we are now traveling yeah so traveling groups is a big thing here yeah people make friends they end up forming little groups the groups get bigger yep uh so uh we’re we’re about to head out uh on a little jaunt yes uh with eight of our friends including us so six of our friends yes yeah uh we just got back from uh another one early in December we went to Key West yeah another eight people for 10 days yeah so it’s real big here I guess because most folks are retired unlike us but that’s okay yeah we try to schlep in there anyway get in there and have fun with all the retired folk but uh so yeah they’ll reach out and say hey I’d like to get a couple of airbnbs nearby who wants to join us I want to get a condo I want to get this I want to go I want we want to go on a cruise does anybody want to join us and we’ve been invited to several of those so much fun yeah now we haven’t been on vacations before friends family and honestly um it’s a mixed bag you know if you don’t quite gel with the other people on the trip you know it’s gonna it’s gonna keep nagging you the whole time we’ve had really good luck we’ve had a great time yeah everyone seems to be of the same mind and uh we we’ve had really good luck with with uh with our vacations with our friend groups absolutely and you know once you have one you know they kind of roll over then you do another trip yeah you know you kind of have the uh the draft you know where one one couple gets traded off to the other and you get you can’t quite make it but you have somebody else that’s in the group that could fill the Slime substitute absolutely yeah but we all get along great yeah um and so we went to Costa Rica we’ve done Key West we’re going to do New Orleans I mean it just gets more and more fun yeah and we’ve just had the time of our lives that’s all I can say and so when you come to Prescott and you make some of these great friendships you know you’ll see a lot of this going on people love to travel together and I guess you know it’s fun because you don’t have the baggage Family or all your friends you know you can just go with you know everybody’s kind of new to the game here so maybe we’re all on best behavior I don’t know the best behavior well yeah we do yeah we do hit it hard yeah we do hit it hard but uh it’s it’s been uh one of the nice perks about living here is meeting people especially we’re you know we haven’t really traveled too too much but these folks have so they can set it all up yeah they can tell you oh this is great this is great we’re gonna do this and I just tag along and I have the time of my life yeah so the the mechanics of this thing is you plan a trip you’re going to plan it you know months in advance uh you know you have a group that wants to get together generally you’ll have you know some dinner meetings where you talk about where you want to go what do you want to do once you pick the place who’s in you know who’s definitely in and then once that’s settled out you have another meeting all with drinks so that’s also part of the fun it’s part of the function yeah so here are all the excursions that are available who wants to do this who wants to do that and then you go on your on your launch day you know and it’s uh so that’s one of the beautiful things about living in Prescott is it is a retirement kind of community and so people are free and available to you know make these great trips yeah and if you’re lucky enough and they include you you say yes and you go and then you have a great time yeah that’s kind of one of the perks about living in a retirement kind of town it’s it’s lovely the other great thing we discovered and well shout out to Charlie bomberger and Bob swelgin you know who you are good friends uh it’s a little program that they introduced this to called Splitter Splitter so this is our other tip to you guys yeah so it’s split like splitter but but no e it’s special s-p-l-i-t-t-r yeah splitter it’s a German app you can put it on your phone so your your credit card may not like it at first so you might have to uh tell them oh yeah it’s it’s uh it’s a validate it’s not very much uh well I think it’s free it is a free app you can get it you can get the premium version but we did not we did not Yeah so basically it’s about splitting costs of things yeah so when you’re with a group of people or your family yeah every time you say I’ll pick up for the whole group it goes on to the splitter app and at the end of the year at the end of the trip I should say it splits up what everyone paid what everyone owed and tells you who owes whom what yeah and it’s a lot of fun it kind of becomes a competition yeah uh oh I’m ahead of the game so you know somebody else needs to and and everybody starts buying a vine to pay for the meal yeah and so at the end everybody basically pays the you know it it it washes out it all washes out what’s really cool about the app I mean obviously if it’s just splitting everything four ways let’s say uh the arithmetic on that is pretty straightforward but uh like when we were in uh Key West I uh I uh paid for a few Ubers but not everyone could fit in the car so I’m thinking well I’m just gonna I’m just gonna pay for the Ubers and I will put it through splitter because not everyone was in the car oh no you can you can make a subgroup and say okay I paid for an Uber and this couple and this couple were the only ones in the car and it will just divide that expense among those two couples so it’s really nice it’s really really cool yeah so you can you know divide it up any way you need to yeah you go to a big meal and you’ve got a table of eight little bills for each single person some restaurants won’t allow you to do that well somebody picks it up and then you put it on splitter yeah and then you know it washes out somebody else will pick up another meal so it’s uh it’s kind of fun and it kind of became a little competition I got it I got it I got this bill I got this bill it’s a lot of fun especially if you know if you’re if you’re drinking it because yeah yeah really quite funny well you know I always kind of think that when you do things that everyone’s kind of splitting things and taking terms of Spain that you end up being pretty even and you do uh you know but the splitter’s nice because it makes sure that everything’s Fair yeah nice and clean super clean and easy you don’t have to do the addition subtraction yeah it does it for you so anyway that was a lot of fun to learn on our last trip so we had a lot of fun with that and we will continue to use splitter in the future for sure absolutely so if you’re looking
